Why add a watermark, and some tips
A watermark marks a photo's source and discourages others from taking it without permission. Adding a brand or name to commercial photos, portfolios and blog images makes it easier to trace the origin if they are misused. This tool draws the original on a canvas and composites semi-transparent text on top.
The font size is calculated as a percentage of the image width, so it appears at a similar relative scale whether the photo is small or large. For example, 6% of the width is roughly a 60px character on a 1000px photo.

After watermarking, use image compression to cut size, or resize image to fit an upload spec.

Can I freely choose where the watermark goes?
Yes. Choose from 9 positions: top-left/top/top-right, left/center/right, bottom-left/bottom/bottom-right. A semi-transparent bottom-right placement is the most common.
How do I set opacity and font size?
The opacity slider (10–100%) controls how much the watermark covers the photo, and the font size is set as a percentage of the image width so it scales consistently across any image size.
Does a watermark protect my copyright?
A watermark helps deter unauthorized use and indicates the source. Note that legal copyright exists from the moment of creation regardless of a watermark, which is only a supporting visual mark.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Watermarking runs 100% inside your browser, and your photos are never uploaded or stored.
